About Us

The First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association is a fraternal benefit society founded in 1892 in Cleveland, Ohio. Under the leadership of Mrs. Anna Hurban, FCSLA was formed to address the insurance needs of individuals of Slovak decent. Today, FCSLA has grown to over 425 branches in 47 states and Washington, D.C, representing over 85,000 members and their families

In June 2007, FCSLA earned and still continues to maintain a rating of A- (Excellent) by A.M. Best Company, an independent insurance rating company that reevaluates companies once per year.

FCSLA and its members are actively involved in the Church, Catholic education, social and civic causes, and providing aid to those in need. The association sponsors over $248,000 in annual scholarships for young members.
